The first FAIR UTSC Program was launched in 2013 when 19 students from top tier high schools in Taiwan came to study at the University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC). Our “pathway” program has admitted hundreds of superior high school graduates and alongside has been expanded to attract and create more opportunities for excellent students from other countries.
FAIR UTSC Program comprises two distinct parts:
- An 8-week UTSC academic preparation and acculturation program, including an intensive academic English language development and summer residential experience on UTSC campus
- Admission to a four-year degree program at the University of Toronto Scarborough upon successful completion of the program, earning a grade of “B” or better
The University has developed meaningful relationships with partner schools and parents to ensure students have a great start and become successful in Canada. Students study in an English environment, take classes, attend field trips and pursue academic activities that prepare them for life in Canada and undergraduate life at UTSC in Fall. The program focuses on academic English language skills, life skills and orientation to Canadian culture and society. Once students complete the program successfully, they go directly into undergraduate studies in September.
