My name is Silvia Serpas, I am currently at the half-way point of my placement in La Paz, Bolivia. I am working with two organizations: The Association of Economic Organizations of Producers with Cultural Identity and the Movement of Social Economy and Fair Trade of Bolivia. My title is Project Management Intern but I have been involved in a variety of activities including working on funding proposals, monitoring and evaluation of fairs and creating computer literacy and information management workshops. I have also been able to learn a lot from my fellow volunteers and local co-workers, primarily in navigating Bolivia's unique culture in and out of the workplace. It is a wonderfully lively place to live and work, it seems that every weekend the main streets are closed due to either a parade or a fair. Time is really flying by during my placement and I can't wait to see what's next.
