Instructional Skills Workshop (ISW)

Next ISW: TBA

CTL offers ISW workshops for UT Scarborough instructors.

ISWs are an intensive 24-hour event, consisting of a laboratory approach to the improvement of teaching and learning.

Participants review basic ideas about teaching, check current practices, and are encouraged to try new instructional strategies and techniques within the safe environment of the group. It is grounded in active, experiential learning, and based on the principles of learning-centred instruction.

The ISW is one of the few opportunities for instructors to observe other instructors teaching, and participants are strongly encouraged to experiment with a range of teaching strategies and techniques. This is a time and place to experiment and receive feedback on the effectiveness of the chosen strategies.
