Module 1
Leadership

This module will focus on the principles and fundamentals of leadership, including theories and models, understanding your own leadership style, where you are, where you want to be and how you will get there. We will explore examples of good and bad leadership, and delve into how influential leadership can affect outcomes.

Module 2

Communication and Confidence

Rounding off skill development, this session will focus on honing interpersonal and communication skills while examining confidence in leadership. We will delve into confidence, to build how it can be demonstrated in a thoughtful yet effective manner. Participants will walk away with a deeper understanding of how to develop their own brand, and a greater self-awareness. We will also examine the concept of facing fears as a leader: how to respond to failure, cope with criticism and insecurities in a healthy and constructive way, building upon one’s strengths.

Module 3

The Art of Complex Negotiations

The session will help you develop your understanding on how to successfully navigate negotiations and conduct complex career discussions in the workplace. Using case-studies, sub topics will include not only negotiating business deals but also negotiating with your supervisors (pay equity) and peers (self-advocacy). You will work in teams, discuss complex case studies and synthesize what to do and not to do in order to maintain good relationships with those you are negotiating with whenever possible.

Module 4

Strategic Business Planning for Your Career

This session will focus on articulating career goals, goal setting strategies and how to successfully achieve them. Participants will be asked to come prepared with an outline of their 5-year plan which will include what they want to do and how they want to do it. Experts will provide feedback and lead discussions on individual road maps, challenges and opportunities.

Module 6

Organizational Dynamics and those Aha Moments

What are the external forces, beyond your control as a leader and follower, which affect the development of a motivated and effective workforce able to plan and execute business initiatives? In this session, participants will learn about initiating processes for continuous strengthening of resources, management expectations and the complexities of team performances. We will also discuss how challenging moments can be Aha Moments – turning points, teaching moments and game changers.
