UTSC’s Department of Athletics & Recreation is celebrating 50 years of programming on campus. This presents an opportunity to honour our rich history, while affirming the Departments commitment to developing and celebrating student success through our programs, as it aligns with the broader campus vision. Since its inception in 1965, Athletics and Recreation has provided opportunities that have empowered students to define and achieve their own success, at any level of ability and participation. This includes opportunities to develop skill sets, learn through experiences and improve overall wellbeing. To celebrate we will be hosting a number of fun and exciting events over the course of the 2015/2016 academic year, we hope you will join us!

Open House:
Join us on September 17th for our Open House and birthday celebration.
Happening in the SW Plaza from 11am-2pm.
Live demos, prizes, BBQ, velcor wall and more.
PLUS, get a chance to dunk your favorite athletic staff in our dunk tank!
All proceeds from dunk tank and BBQ will go to support the Terry Fox foundation.
Homecoming:
Cheer on your Varsity Blues as they take on Sheridan College at TPASC on September 30th!
Join us in creating a new tradition at the University of Toronto Scarborough as we host our first ‘Homecoming Game’.
Admission to the Game is FREE and everyone is welcome! Game time is 7 pm.
Pre-Game festival begins at 5 pm, just outside the south entrance of TPASC and includes:
· Hamburgers, Hotdogs, Pizza, Corn on the Cob, S’mores for purchase
· Beverage Tent
· Family entertainment including a bouncy castle and face painting
· Live music and student performances
· Free goodies, giveaways and prizes

October Events
East/West Classic:
The rivalry between UTM and UTSC continues in this annual event. Show your UTSC spirit and cheer on your Men’s D-League Hockey team as they face-off against UTM.
Wednesday, October 21 @8pm at Varsity Arena
This FREE event is open to everyone! There will be giveaways, door prizes, and a 50/50 draw (to benefit our D-League team) .
Transportation will be provided to U of T students, please meet outside of TPASC – the bus will be leaving at 6:30pm

Soccer Day in Scarborough:
Come out and support your Men’s and Women’s D-League Soccer teams as they go up against St. George Red.
Join us in the Valley on Sunday, October 25 for this event, which includes an onsite BBQ and giveaways!!
Both our Men’s and Women’s D-League teams will play at 12:00pm. Following these games, there will be an Alumni game at 2:00pm
Take a break from studying and come and cheer on these teams as they represent UTSC!
