Monica Gutierrez

For Monica, being part of the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus – a regional anchor institution - is a point of pride. She has worked and lived in Scarborough for many years, coming to understand it as the most vibrant, exciting, and diverse region in Toronto.

Monica has 14 years of diverse fundraising experience, with stints in the non-profit healthcare, arts and education sectors, including a period working at Scarborough Arts, a designated Local Arts Service Organization. In this work Monica has built strategic and meaningful partnerships with private and non-profit organizations to secure sponsorship and grant funding. With a focus on community-centric fundraising, and a Masters in Adult Education and Community Development (Ontario Institute for Studies in Education), Monica strives to use her education, experience and skills to leverage fund development for social change. She is looking forward to working with the alumni and broader UTSC community to make a difference.

Outside of work, Monica creates murals and public art installations. You may have caught glimpses of her work at a Nuit Blanche Scarborough event in the past!
