Financial Assistance from U of T

UTAPS – University of Toronto Advance Planning for Students

University of Toronto Advance Planning for Students (UTAPS) can be used to provide you with valuable information about the amount of government aid and U of T grant assistance you can expect. It is a useful tool that will help you prepare to finance your education.

You are eligible to apply to UTAPS if you are a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person (recognized convention refugee) and will be enrolled full-time in an eligible program for the fall and winter semesters.

There are three parts to the UTAPS program:

  • It’s a planning tool that can provide you with valuable information about the amount of government aid and U of T grant assistance you can expect.
  • It’s an application tool for many scholarships and grants.
  • It’s a grant program for students who are receiving a student loan. OSAP students are automatically considered for this grant; out-of-province and First Nations students will need to apply.
  • You are eligible to apply for UTAPS if you are a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person (recognized convention refugee) and will be enrolled full-time in an eligible program for the fall and winter semesters.
