We academics dedicate our lives to sharing our knowledge, to thinking and writing. So I humbly offer my thoughts here in a way that presents a unique opportunity to be engaged with you. While I don’t pretend my insights are the final word, I am keen to share stories with you through my eyes. It’s my hope that this blog will encourage you to share your thoughts as well and I will be appreciative of your contribution to our conversation. Dialogue—even among those who may not see the world the same way—is the key to building great communities.


 

At the second U. S. Presidential debate—a town hall-style forum—Gorbah Hamed asked how, with Islamophobia on the rise, the candidates would help people like her deal with the consequences of being labeled a threat to the country. It was a shocking, though sadly not a surprising, question.
