Extern Job Shadowing Program

Students talking in a professional situation

The Extern Program is a unique career exploration program designed to link University of Toronto students with experienced professionals in the workplace.

You can help students learn about the skills, educational requirements, work environment, and the lifestyle that accompany a career. By participating as a sponsor in the Extern program and sharing your insights and experiences, you play an active role in educating students about your career field and the workplace. This also provides you with a great opportunity to profile your company.

Placements last 1-5 days and take place during February, May, and October.

New this year! In the Field Program

The In the Field program is a workplace tour exposing students to the multiple careers that can be found at that organization. Our first collaboration will be with the Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Science on September 26, 2015. Students will be given a tour of the facility and be introduced to the different career paths that exist in mental health services. Students must attend a mandatory preparation session in order to participate. Space is limited. Registration and more details available on CLN. Future tours include: a hospital, social service agency and commercial property development.
