Larry Sawchuk (Professor) has been teaching and doing research in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Toronto at Scarborough since the 1970s. My primary area of interest is population health and the interrelationships between disease, biology, demography, ecology and culture. The approach is multidisciplinary in outlook. My spatial focus has been the Mediterranean region and temporally, my work covers the time period from 18th century to present day with research sites in Gibraltar and the Maltese Islands. I am a strong believer in using new technology in teaching and whenever possible I combine my research interests with my teaching.
