New Post-Secondary Student Helpline

Good2Talk is a dedicated helpline for post secondary-students in Ontario. While Good2Talk specializes in providing professional counselling, information, and referral services to post-secondary students aged 17 to 25, they will provide support to anyone who calls the helpline. Good2Talk is completely free, anonymous and confidential. It is available 24/7, 365 days a year. Callers will be able to get bilingual information about services and supports on our campus, in their community, and throughout the provice as well as have the opportunity to speak with a professonal counsellor or information referral specialist. To contact Good2Talk, call 1-866-925-5454 or connect through 211 any time, day or night.

TalkRocket Go is a text-to-speech app for iPhone, iPad Touch, and iPod which assists people with verbal communication. AccessAbility Services has created a fast and easy new way to access myAIMS. To log in, simply click on the 'myAIMS' link on the top-right of any page on the AccessAbility website. Please note that links have changed slightly as well, so you might need to update any bookmarks you already have.



Upcoming Events

Transition Programs for incoming Students with Disabilities

Students can choose from the following 2 FREE programs:

STARTUP (3 day program):  Tuesday August 9th to Thursday August 11, 2016 (inclusive)


JUMPSTART (1 day program):  Thursday August 25th, 2016

The programs will help you transition to university by:

  • Providing information about what to expect during the first year
  • Giving opportunity to build connections with other students
  • Helping you better understand your strengths and challenges in relation to learning in university
  • Teaching you effective strategies that will help you develop your academic skills such as note taking and academic reading
  • Orienting you to the UTSC campus
  • For STARTUP only:  an optional opportunity to experience residence for free

Parents are invited to attend a FREE Parent Session on Tuesday August 9, 2016 at 6:00 pm.

  • You son or daughter must be attending either STARTUP or JUMPSTART in order for you to attend the parent session
  • Parents will be provided information about supporting their student with a disability in making the transition to university and provided an opportunity to ask questions
  • This session is free for parents including dinner

Important Deadlines

Mid-Term, Tests, and Quizzes:
The deadline to request accommodations for mid-terms, tests, and quizzes using myAIMS is 14 days prior to the date of your test.

Final Exam Accommodation Requests are due as follows:

    Summer Session: Friday July 8th 2016 at 3:00pm
    Fall Session: Friday November 4th 2016 at 3:00pm
    Winter Session: Friday March 10th 2017 at 3:00pm
